Amy Sol is one of my favourite artists. She spent the majority of her childhood in Korea before she moved to Las Vegas where she now resides. Her art is a mix of a few different styles. Manga, Folk, Modern and Vintage all wrapped into each of her pieces. The best part about Amy? She’s self taught. She also often adds little bits of nostalgia to her artwork. For example a piece that I have has little bits of Super Mario 2 placed throughout it.
The only problem with Amy’s work is that when it goes up for sale it sells almost instantly. I’ve lost out numerous times on her artwork. I keep my eye’s peeled for anything new or old that comes out on the market because there’s nothing I want more than to hang a piece of her art on my walls.
Where have you see Amy’s work? She can be found on Gelaskins.com and the 2006 Publication of the Corpro Nason 15th Anniversary Hard Cover Art Book.
Take a look at her art and enjoy. I know I do.
