Viral marketing is nothing new to the world of modern marketing and advertising, the thing is with most viral videos in the end you have a good idea of what they want you to run out and spend some loot on. Sure there are some exceptions such as Bungie’s iheartbees where no one knew what the heck was going on for a bit.

Over the past few weeks Muppets themed viral vids have been popping up on youtube. Initially people thought to brush it off as some schmuck with some nicely made puppets, but what we have here are very well done videos featuring many famous Muppets with their famous Henson personalities and mannerisms.

So who is responsible for these posts and why are they posting them? Are we witness to some of the finest fan reproductions of a series ever? Is this to build up to The Muppet Show coming back to the airwaves? Or is there something far more sinister going on?

So far the videos have been posted by a medley of users all linked as friends. Most of them only have one video to their account except for one that has 4 videos. Here are their usernames deumnborkborkbork , weirdowhatever, meepmeepmeepow, patrioticeagle, and the ring leader heckleu247.

Guess time will tell what we have on our hands here, worst case scenario its some early buzz for a new The Muppets Show and how bad is that?
