Battlemouth

When I told Mike I’m game for re-launching Battlemouth.com I don’t think I ever took into account how busy I’d be. I find myself putting in hours a day doing little tweaks here and little tweaks there and things behind the scenes that the average visitor never sees but makes the site run quicker.

Then we launched Petulant Designs and immediately got tossed into our first bit of client work and have a lot more we’re working out the details on right now. It’s crazy how these things go. Sometimes you miss real big and sometimes you hit big. I think we’ve scored a home run with Battlemouth and Petulant and I’m happy about that. I’m happy to be putting the time in that I am to make this work.

Looking back on today I think I’m in hour 8 or 9 of Battlemouth/Petulant stuff with no end in sight. The biggest thing with Battlemouth right now is the fact that we absolutely need to keep the site fresh. This means we need to be posting stuff everyday. If we don’t it gets stale and we’re left dead in the water. With any luck we’ll get some more editors and our posting frequency will go up. Right now the site could sustain a max of about 8 to 10 new posts a day before we start burying articles and readers in a heap of text. There’s definately a happy medium and we’re working under it right now.
