Role Models

If you haven’t checked out David Wain’s Role Models, which just hit theaters last friday, then you need to get off your lazy ass and do it. Its a perfectly written comedy about two friends, Wheeler (Seann William Scott, or “Stifler” to you American Pie heads) and Danny (Paul Rudd), who opt out of their 30 days in prison for 150 hours of community service in a big brother mentor type program. Jail probably would have been a better option.

I don’t want to give away the entire story line, because I honestly hope you will all go out and see this movie. I was expecting an average comedy and was blown away. The entire story is perfectly written and flows from scene to scene with ease. Not bad from Paul Rudd who isn’t known as one of the top writers in the industry. Seann William Scott is pretty much what you’d expect in this movie: a sexist party animal who drops hilarious one liners. The amount of classic material in this movie is unbelievable, and it has potential to top Judd Apatow’s movies as the best comedy of 2008. Definitely go check this one out, its well worth your $8.50.
