There is a top secret group infiltrating twitter. Spymaster is only in the stages of beta testing, and therefore the only way in is to find a one of the “Directorates” or someone already in the game, and beg to join. If you are lucky enough to get in to the game, as we here at Battlemouth have been, you will first be given the choice of which Secret Government branch to join: The United States’ CIA, United Kingdoms MI6, or Russia’s FBC. Each branch will offer a particular bonus for joining, but ultimately the choice remains up to you. Once inside the world of Spymaster you will find, through a very attractive, but simple interface, that you now have access to complete missions on your own, gaining capital and experience, try to assassinate your twenemies, or strengthen your Spy Ring (which is ultimately your goal) by sending invites to your followers to become SPYMASTERS. Your Spy Ring consists of your total followers hhowever, it is the ones that choose to accept your invitation that will truly aid in strengthening you as well as opening your available tasks. Thus far I have to say that the game is certainly entertaining as well as addicting. There are several other fun little things you can do once inside the world of SPYMASTER but, I wouldn’t be much of a spy if I gave away all of our secrets.
Here however is the big question: Once games like this infiltrate twitter, how long is it before we our submerged to our necks in countless rediculous add-ons and clutter that make twitter as annoying as myspace and facebook. I for one hope that it remains a long time coming. I first joined twitter for purposes of networking, talking with my friends, and AVOIDING shit just like this game. With that said…it is still very fun, and as it is still fairly exclusive, I am not plagued by countless rediculous tweets telling me “@crazypersonthatIfollow has tried to assasinate blah blah.” And of course one fantastic thing that reamins about twitter, if you dont want to see someones tweets….DONT FOLLOW THEM.
So again, I think that if you can get an invite to one of these exclusive Spy Rings then you will certainly find a good time. Hopefully we never have to refer to these clever fellows as the “guys that destroyed twitter”….try it out and tell us what you think!
