Battlemouth

It has come to my attention that several of you are not as obsessed with comic books as I am!….So it is with that in mind that I have decided to start a new series, for the casual reader, if you will. There are plenty of websites out there that will give you list after list of all the titles coming out on the nearest Wednesday, but anyone can pull that together, right? Instead I will give you a, hopefully, more personalized idea of some books that are coming out. Obviously it is difficult to just jump into many of the ongoing series that are out there so I will try to focus on books with jumping on points, or to at least give you an idea of what has been going on and whether or not it is worth your time (and money) to catch up! I hope you find this new series informative and helpful as you make your way to the comic book shop on Wednesday…maybe it might even convince some of you that you should be making that trip in the first place! My Thoughts:
This is quite possibly my favorite comic book out there. Garth Ennis is certainly my favorite author. At this intro price of 1$….well I will smack you if you don’t go buy it and at least try it out.

My Thoughts:
Warren Ellis is kind of like the Axel Rose of the comic book industry. Only I actually like Warren Ellis. Armor Wars is only on issue #2 and I can assure you this is going to be a mini-arc that you do not want to miss. Starks cocky attitude and and Warren Ellis dialogue are practically meant to be together.

My Thoughts:
For those un-aware…Top Cow’s “Pilot Season” is similar to the pilot season that happens on many television networks. Essentially several different shows, or in this case first issues, are released to the general public and ratings are measured. Top Cow, however, isn’t using “ratings” per se…they are going to use your votes. Robert Kirkman is writing 5 stories for this Pilot Season, at the end of which we (the readers) will help choose what carries on and what gets put in the burn pile. So “Declassified” is certainly worth looking at!

Ok seriously, this looks to be mega cheasy…however….it is Halloween so consider this a special attempt to be festive. Of course, I have also been on a quest to find a good Radical Comics series to read and since Hercules burned my eyeballs and melted part of my brain….well….lets try again shall we?

It is worth the money just to have this on my shelf. Too cool, really it is a pretty killer idea if you think about it!
