Jon Paul Kaiser is a creativity machine. You may remember way back during the Indie Artist Series: Round 2 when I interviewed JPK. Let me tell you, this guy is going nowhere but UP. Some of his latest pieces have been absolutely mind blowing–not to mention his line of production toys, the Bee-Lino, that I am personally so excited to finally get a hold of that I can barely contain myself! JPK was my pick for Artist of the Year for 2009, and if he keeps going the way he is currently, I would make an early wager that he will certainly be in the running for 2010 as well!
This latest piece was done for a private collector in the UK. It is a customized Mecha Sad Bear by the venerable Luke Cheuh. In a short email about the piece last night, Jon told me that he normally doesn’t really sculpt a whole lot on pieces like this. With this guy, however, he had a clear idea of what he was going to do from the very beginning. I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is one of Jon’s most exciting pieces yet! I would be honored to have it on my shelf any day! BRAVO JPK!
