The buzz about the gaming world heard everywhere, including our twitter feeds, has been about the success of BioWare and EA’s latest release: Mass Effect 2. The game is truly incredible and we are working tirelessly to bring you a review of epic proportions…

BUT, in the meantime…perhaps you are waiting on your copy of the game to show up in the mail, or perhaps you just don’t know the glory of what you are missing…either way, you should head over to your local comic book shop and check out Mass Effect: Redemption from Dark Horse.

Mass Effect: Redemption is written by the head writer of Mass Effect 2, Mac Walters, as well as John Jackson Miller (Knights of the Old Republic), which should be enough reason for you to stop what you are doing and immediately find the nearest comic book shop! Redemption promises to bring new background to an already expansive story in this epic 4-part mini-series. From the looks of issue #1, we are in for some great story involving Shepard and the deadly Dr. Liara T’Soni. The art by Omar Francia (Star Wars: Legacy) is absolutely breath-taking and perfectly pairs with Mass Effect’s reputation for beautiful in-game graphics. Without a doubt this series will be one not to miss for comic book, video game, and science fiction fans everywhere.

But wait. “Aaron, what is this about Mass Effect on my iPhone?”

This Wednesday, February 3rd, Mass Effect: Redemption Issue #2 releases. At that time it will join the list of Dark Horse’s other killer iPhone-downloadable titles like: Hellboy: Seed of Destruction and Umbrella academy: Apocalypse Suite. Issue one of the book is available now on iTunes for a mere 99 cents, but if you just can’t swing 99 cents (you should probably not have an iPhone…just kidding), fear not! Wednesday morning, Dark Horse and EA will bring you Mass Effect: Redemption Issue #1 for FREE on iTunes…but only for 24 Hours!
